About me

My name is Ben and I currently work at Leif building an origination and servicing platform for Income Share Agreements. This new financial product is designed to increase access to affordable education and incentivize education providers to focus on maximizing job placement outcomes for their graduates.

In my last job, I wrote blockchain research and assisted in business development for Financial Technology Partners. FT Partners is an investment bank focused on M&A and capital raise advisory for premier fin-tech start-ups. Before that, I worked as a full-time research associate for Professor Brian Kovak, an Economist at Carnegie Mellon University. I cleaned and analyzed large government datasets to find the impact of international trade and immigration on labor outcomes such as employment and wages.

I also spent time growing my software skills at the Recurse Center where I designed and built my own blockchain based on bitcoin. I have a degree with honors in economics from UC Berkeley and took additional course work in computer science and pre-medical sciences.

In my non-professional life, I write comedy and compete in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I am an avid traveler and love exploring new cultures.
